This program is designed specifically to make youngsters feel that they belong in the sports world. This is accomplished through the use of a smaller size ball, a lower basket, and special instruction from both coaches and officials. The program's emphasis is in providing a recreational environment with quality and individual instruction to help each child in a unique way to experience both fun and competition.

The objective of the Local League shall be to implant firmly in the participants of the community the ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage and reverence, so that they may be well adjusted, stronger and happier participants and will grow to be good, clean, healthy and trustworthy persons.

The objective will be achieved by providing supervised basketball games. The supervisors shall bear in mind that the attainment of exceptional athletic skill or the winning of games is secondary, but to give each participant who participates equal opportunity to play and the molding of future persons is of prime importance.

Coaches are volunteers from the community who are committed to helping the youth of Paola grow and develop. Without these men and woman the program could not exist. They contribute their time, skills, and energy in order to improve our community. We owe them our thanks. Please remember to treat them with the respect they deserve, and to support them even if you disagree with them at times.

The Miola Basketball League maintains the right to dismiss coaches whenever they deem it necessary to do so. Such a decision will only be made in cases of an extreme nature, and all other options will be exercised if at all possible.

Any child in the grades 1st-6th may participate in the program. In order to participate in the program each child's parent or legal guardian must fill out a registration form and sign it. The fee is paid in full at registration. No child will be turned down because of hardships in the home.

Each team will play at least 7-8 league games. Games will be scheduled on every Saturday starting at 8:00 am and ending about 1:00 pm or 3:00 pm depending on grade level. Each team will be scheduled 1 night during the week to practice for 1 hour. There will be a tournament at the end of the season to determine the Champion of each grade level. Each team will play at least 1 game in Tournament. Awards will be given out to everyone.
